All kids learn.
Kids learn all day, every day – 365 days a year. They learn good things, bad things, important things, and unimportant things. The fact is a child is always learning something – especially before they turn 12.
Kids are only in school less than 20% of time they are awake over a year. The other 80% of learning time outside the classroom is up for grabs.
The problem is that out of classroom learning time for many kids is now dominated by big tech and others with questionable motives. They are looking at our children as potential “customers for life” of whatever it is they are selling now and in the future. Their products are not designed to serve the interests of children; they serve the interests of the corporation.
Big tech is laughing at us and our attempts to capture and maintain the attention of our youth in the other 80%.
Wise Words for Parents
A sapling grows the way you bend it. But if you don’t bend it, it will grow and take shape just the same, though not as you would have it. It will be shaped by the prevailing winds, which, you can be sure, never blow in the right direction.
From day one, every conscious moment of a child’s life is training; every event, and non-event, is schooling, preparation for the rest of life. If a child’s eyes can see, tongue can taste, nose can smell, hands can feel, or ears can hear, training is in progress. Parents don’t need to initiate a program, set aside a time, or confront the child in some special way for training to occur. Training and schooling never cease, never rest. A child develops with or without you. If you are not deliberately leaving your imprint on every stage of his development, know that someone is.
What you don’t do as a parent is as influential as what you do.
We’ve been losing miserably to the titans of technology – until now that is…
After over a decade of work, and over $20 million invested working with over 10 million K-6 students around the world – we have a kid-driven, game-based life-skills learning platform – Heroic Game Day! (for more detailed info go to www.heroicgameday.com)
It’s the answer that the parents and schools and lawmakers of the world have been looking for – a learning platform that will compete effectively for the attention of our elementary school children when they are out of the classroom. We no longer need to surrender to big tech when it comes to what our children are interested in and ultimately their future.
These are our two main principles we adhere to:
1. We need to train our kids before they are 12 to manage technology, work hard to succeed, want to serve others and be confident in their success. We need to instill in them the hope for a great future and the motivation to put in the work to make it happen.
2. In those early formative years, we need to be in front of them and influence 100% of their learning time with engaging and good learning content. We need to implement the heroic learning 365 x 5 star program.
This is the Heroic Learning 365 x 5 Star Plan that Heroic Game Day can implement at a low cost and guaranteed level of effectiveness:
America’s Heroic School
Enroll every student in America’s Heroic School as a scalable supplement to deliver in-demand skills to elementary age students while maintaining local school autonomy. Kids will have fun, and learn more.
Junior College
Issue certificates of achievement that are branded and accredited by affiliate colleges as the first stage of their leadership training.
Heroic Parent App
Engage parents and grandparents with the Heroic Parent app that not only connects them to what their kids are doing in the game but also connects them to a community of other like-minded parents and grandparents.
Heroic Learning Device
Ensure that every student has access to a Heroic Learning Device at least 30 mins per day to use tech for good, build connectedness, and hone critical in-demand skills, and after two years, if they do the work, they’ll own it.
Heroic Skills World Cup Competition (esports+education)
Connect kids with other kids in the US and around the world and let them compete with each other as they learn the life-skills of success together.
The Heroic Game Day Five Star Plan will turbocharge students’ exposure to and experience with technology during their elementary school years, so they are excited to learn, serve, work, and lead the world regardless of what career they choose.

Pay a student to learn?
Over the years there’s been many “Pay to Learn” schemes that have received their fair share of skepticism. Some deserve it, others, maybe not.
A foundational component of the ultra-successful gaming science model is the use of coins, rewards and points that help the player level up. Heroic Game Day employs all of these scientific principles effectively in the game to create student engagement, hope and the motivation to put in the work to level up (succeed).
We are extending that game-based reward system to solve the chronic absenteeism problem. As the students enroll in the game and engage, they will learn that every time they show up to school they not only get “100 coins” to spend in the game, but they also get “grit skill” points that help them level up in the game. So every day students show up to school, they are rewarded with things that help them do better in the game, and, by default, in life because they are attending school.
In addition to this extremely effective and scalable solution to chronic absenteeism, the students will also have access to the game when they don’t show up to school – they will be allowed to play in the game and earn those same coins and skill points and deliver a real learning day, even without showing up in the classroom. The data that strongly correlates time spent in the game and increases in math, reading and science test score proficiency AND behavioral improvements, paves the way for schools to count these “absent” days as “school” days, as the student learns critical life-skills outside the classroom.
